A piece of Parisian history

Stop for a second...and look at these sweet pieces of art...

I've never tried these macaroons... the favourite biscuits of Marie Antoinette.

There is confusion over the origin of these French specialities but any experts believe that

they were invented, together with other delicacies, by maestro Italian bakers who accompanied Catherine de Medici to Paris.

The creation of the Ladurée (the famous macaroons pastry shop) macaroon is linked to Pierre Desfontaines, a cousin of Louis Ernest, who had the bright idea of filling a meringue shell with melted chocolate and cream towards the end of the nineteenth century.

’E voilà!’ the modern-day macaroon.

Often adapted according to art or contemporary culture: maybe decorated in line with a “theme”, drawing inspiration from a film, book or other contemporary phenomenon. A source of infinite delight, an authentic treat.

And they look so amazingly delicious...and those colours drive me mad! I absolutely love all these pics!!!

From chocolate to vanilla and other rather unusual fillings, like rose or mint.
Tomorrow I'll be leaving for Bucharest for 3 days...maybe I'll get to find some macaroons there...I've already spotted a shop where they sell these babies... :)

KISS ME, I'M 25!! ☺ ☼

Yessssssss....it's my birthday!

Today, on the 29th of september, I'm turning 25.

That's a lot! It's a bit creepy, but it's fun also! ☺☺

I'm not gonna start thinking about the inns and outs related to this fact...I'm just gonna go with the flow! I've decided not to throw a party with lots of friends, because I know myself...I would be working like a waiter again all evening (like I did last year...like I do everytime). So today, it wasME time. Oh, and it was so damn good! We went to the Lumiere Restaurant, had some delicious pasta and then hit the spa at the Mara hotel.

I came out from there, like a new baby born!

theatre festival @ Oradea

Here we are in Oradea, at another theatre festival where we were invited to play one of our theatre shows, "Proorocul Ilie". I've been here before, but this time I actually got the chance to visit it a bit...interesting and the weather was really pleasant. I wore smth cosy and super comfy.

...the only interesting thing to photo during a freakin' local celebration called the Chestnuts Holiday. I don't enjoy it... but this pic is lovely!

the morning after...

At 7 in the morning when the wedding finished (me, Mate, the bride and the groom-my bro- were the last ones to leave the restaurant), I was dead tired...and I my feet...ohhhhh, man...I don't wanna tell you... After sleeping till late afternoon to recover a bit of energy, me and Mate went for a town walk with friends and family... I said Good bye (for now) to mini skirts and high heels, and welcome to sweatpants and UGGs!

These are part of the people that I haven't seen in years (they live in Italy, and planning to moove next year in Germany). We spent some time together, talking, having fun and taking pics...love these people...Magda and Doru with their kid, Dorina and her bf, Thomas :)

My bro got married!!!!!!!

Still can't believe it...but...yeah...he's done! :)) All I can say ...those wore the longest 24 hours in my life, when I didn't got a chance to rest a bit...but these moments were unique, and all in all, it was a great wedding! I don't really have lots of pics...but hope you'll enjoy the ones I posted!

Salzburg ♫♪♫ Austria

I was so happy I could see again this beautiful city of Austria. It's just the perfect destination for an european relaxed vacation. It's for sure...I'll always love these places! If this pics won't make you wanna see Salzburg...then...you refuse to see pure beauty.

Salzburg is the fourth-largest city in Austria (after Vienna, Graz and Linz) and the capital of the federal state of Salzburg. Its "Old Town", with its world famous baroque architecture, is one of the best-preserved city centers in the German-speaking world and was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1997. The name Salzburg literally means "Salt Castle", and derives its name from the barges carrying salt on the Salzach river, which were subject to a toll in the 8th century.

The Salzburg Cathedral (German: Salzburger Dom) is a 17th century baroque cathedral of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Salzburg in the city of Salzburg, dedicated to Saint Rupert of Salzburg.It is the site of Mozart's baptism.

Hohensalzburg Fortress (Festung) Located on top of a mountain, the Festung offers breath-taking views of Salzburg and the Alps. One area of the fortress offers visitors the chance to look down on a field below to find only one house, the executioner's residence. It was believed to live anywhere near the executioner was bad luck. Inside the fortress is a museum of medieval weapons, life on the fortress, and torture instruments. To avoid the vertical hike up to the Fortress, a funicular is available to ride, for a fee.

Mozarts Geburtshaus (Mozart's birth house), Getreidegasse 9 - The Mozart family lived in this house in the heart of Salzburg from 1747-1773, where W.A. Mozart himself was born on 27 January 1756. The house is now a popular museum devoted to Mozart and his family, with interesting memorabilia and letters.

Getreidegass - A long yet narrow street running parallel to the river in the center of town, with lots of shops, famous for the old (or old-style) signs of profession outside each store. Getreidegasse (also known as Grain Lane) is a busy shopping street in the Old-Town section of Salzburg. The house at no. 9 Getreidegasse is the place where Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was born and where he lived until the age of 17. Is one of the oldest streets in Salzburg. Most of the buildings feature wrought-iron guild signs hanging above the shops.
