Foxy Lady

More pictures from theatre shows...cause, to be honest, theatre represents more than 50 % of my life. This is the Foxy that I'm playing in a theatre show called "Once upon a time in...America". I have a lot of fun during this performance. It's mostly made for kids, but any adult will enjoy it also. Not to mention we have cute outfits and funny face paintings. I love to do (as you already might know) my own make up, so this is just another great way to paint. Enjoy the pics, see ya soon!
:) See you @theatre!

Movie DVD launch

After a couple of years from the making of  the "Ravens Forest/Padurea corbilor" movie, finally the DVD was launched tonight.... I will try to see only see the good part of it. After all it was a movie made with zero budget. It's insane! But we made it! Hope I'll post a trailer of it soon...If you are curious, you can see photos from the shootings on this blog, just search in november 2009. Here are some pics from tonight, on the theatre stage where we all met after we've seen the movie...

See ya very soon!

"My" World Theatre Day :)

Every year, on the 27th of march we celebrate The World Theatre Day; and before any theatre performance, it is a well known custom (among the theatre people) a message is read...you can see it in the previous post. This year, me and a coleague of mine, read both the national and int. messages before the premiere of a children show started. Enjoy the pics!
And HAPPY WORLD THEATRE DAY!!!

Premiere tonight...

Well, finally... the work we started in january, today, comes to an end. At 6 p.m. tonight, we'll start the premiere of the Visniec play. I am not going to translate the title of it into english. Probably only after a couple of months... There are just too many bad memories about it. Sorry.
If you need it, I will...but I doubt it. Along with this play work, these two months of 2011...were full of bad things, unpleasant, full with stress and surrounded by morons...and not only outside the theatre. It is said that you can't choose your family, but you're damn sure you can choose your friends. So this month I've cut some people out from my Friends List. But, that's life...I prefer to go on, thank you. That's the only thing I've learned in the last couple of weeks...along with the fact that this is a country ruled by morons, laws don't offer you any protection and if you don't know the right people and if you don't have lots of money, this country drowns you! This is not my home. And it's a thing that I'm fully sure of it.
Books were the only thing that made my existence better these weeks (along with the smile of the one who loves me). Love them more than I used to... I think this two months I bought around 12 new books. :) Reading kept me thinking at better places, better people, better moments to come.
Well, I hope MARCH will bring all the best things, beginning with spring! First of all I need to rest and surround myself with love and beautiful things, books, flowers and smiles!

Premiere

“A young man with a strange hobby. A couple with two partners who hate each other. A father who no longer stands the family concept and wants to travel around the world. A mother who lost her way in life. A daughter with no friends but with a passion for Egyptology. Another daughter without landmarks, that wants to know how it’s like to have a boyfriend. A young man recently dumped by his girlfriend…During an ordinary evening, these eight characters accidentally meet in a downtown bar and their lives change forever. Under the sight of the "cold baby", the characters live things that happen to regular people: they fell in love, get married, have children, die…trying to answer the child’s question : does it worth “growing a big man” or not?...“The Cold Baby" was written in 2002 by Marius von Mayenburg, one of Europe's most acclaimed contemporary playwrights.

Here we are...the last two months of work, finally came to a conclusion...tonight we'll host the premiere of the theatre show called "The cold kid(child)". Yesterday came with some good and bad news...my mom came to see the performance last night, and I was so glad I had some time to spend with her...last time we've seen each other was in september. And then the bad news...well the PMS showed it's crappy face, and it hurts so bad...I had like 3 strong pain killers yesterday. And this morning, when my mom left at 5.30, the pain just got worst. I just hope I'll be able to play a good show tonight ... it still hurts right now...
Anyways...here are 2 pics from a rehearsal...Hope you'll enjoy them, and maybe I'll see you tonight in the audience! You have a great sunday!!!!!!

Baia Mare Theatre's site

Finally, along with a hectic work, we've managed to relaunch the theatre's site, which has been dead for more than 4 years...sadly. At the opening of the "Atelier", Mate spoke a bit of what you cand find on the site and how, so I wish people will get all the info they need about anything that has to do with the Baia Mare Theatre from here:  http://www.teatrulbm.ro/

I would say HAPPY RE-BIRTHDAY!!!

and the premiere...

I've celebrated World Theatre Day on stage, as every actor should. Remember the play I was talking about in the last posts? Well...we finally came out with it. "The Wonderful World of Dissocia" it's written by Anthony Neilson about a young woman suffering from dissociative disorder. Working on it was not easy...all by yourself... but after 2 months it came out and the spectators liked it. Plus, my mom came a 9 hours train way from home to see it(me)! And I was really glad, it's always reconfortating when seeing family among the public! And God knows, I needed her smile so much! Thanks Mom! The best!
So in this play, I'm Jane...man...I don't know how to describe her in order to be "politically correct"... Well, she's going to save Lisa ( the damaged girl) from the sexual abuse that The Goat Man was going to apply to her... :)) So I'm taking over (the Goat man) for good! :D
It's interesting to see and funny at the same time. Soon I'll maybe post a video on the blog...
Will keep you in touch with that!
Enjoy the pics, and if you have questions, I'll be glad to answer!
Big hug, Gabriela
some romanian stuff about the show:

2010 WORLD THEATRE DAY MESSAGE: DAME JUDI DENCH

Theatre artists/lovers should consider this day as closest as their birth day...
Here it is the 2010 Theatre Day message for us:

"World Theatre Day is an opportunity to celebrate Theatre in all its myriad forms. Theatre is a source of entertainment and inspiration and has the ability to unify the many diverse cultures and peoples that exist throughout the world. But theatre is more than that and also provides opportunities to educate and inform.

Theatre is performed throughout the world and not always in a traditional theatre setting. Performances can occur in a small village in Africa, next to a mountain in Armenia, on a tiny island in the Pacific. All it needs is a space and an audience. Theatre has the ability to make us smile, to make us cry, but should also make us think and reflect.

Theatre comes about through team work. Actors are the people who are seen, but there is an amazing set of people who are not seen. They are equally as important as the actors and their differing and specialist skills make it possible for a production to take place. They too must share in any triumphs and successes that may hopefully occur.

March 27 is always the official World Theatre Day. In many ways every day should be considered a theatre day, as we have a responsibility to continue the tradition to entertain, to educate and to enlighten our audiences, without whom we couldn’t exist."

Dissocia...

Maybe you'll ask what's the connection between these two photos...
at first sight, there's none...
Except the fact that they have a strong meaning when it comes to the theatre play we're working on ... The premiere will be only on the 27th of march ( for the connaisseurs, right on The World's Theatre Day) when we'll tell a sad story in the most comic way we could imagine it!A play about illness, hope, love, pain, good times, sexuality, nonsense, teddy bears, raipists, doctors, lovers ... I'll check back with details ...

theatre play night

"D-ale carnavalului", a play written by I.L. Caragiale had the premiere tonight at the theatre I'm working in...What can I say ( as a spectator)....there were things I liked, things I got angry after seeing them...and things that I would of done differently...Here are some pics from that I could take during the play.
This is a pic before the show started...
with two of the performers of the play, Lati (he's actually a dancer) and Dan! :)

Despre omul frumos

Dimpotriva. Dan Puric are o alcatuire orfica – aceasta fiind opusul retoricii. Dan Puric n-a aparut intamplator acum.

Intamplarea de aseara insa, merita scrisa in limba materna-mi. Aflasem cu o zi in urma, ca spectacolul clujean "Take, Ianke si Cadar" va avea o reprezentatie pe scena teatrului baimarean in data de 6 noiembrie. Trebuia vazut!
In Satu Mare n-am ajuns inca sa vedem ultima premiera...poate zilele ce urmeaza...as vrea...ahhhhhh

O dorinta a noastra ar fi sa ne intalnim undeva in decembrie , inainte de Sarbatori, toti (chiar toti), in dragul nostru Cluj. Vedem cum decurg lucrurile pana atunci...

O imbratisare cu drag Bobule, daca reusesti sa citesti post-ul, si enjoy the pics!
